What a nightmare this would be. I suppose some problems that show up at a wedding event could be worse, much worse. Like a bride hating her wedding photographs weeks after the wedding because she hired the wrong person. Or, constant rain at an outdoor location. Or someone getting hurt, or, worse yet, dying. (This happens!)
At one wedding I was photographing at a golf course, the bride’s dress got caught in the wheel of the golf cart she and her new husband were in, and ripped open her entire wedding dress, top to bottom. Wide open. Just like that, her wedding dress ruined. And the reception was about 45 minutes away.
She was amazing. She instantly asked one of her bridesmaids to call the wedding dress store and tell them we were on our way. She knew they had a duplicate dress, and they did. They drove their, picked it up, back just in time to start the reception. All true. I was there.
This story about a couple who found out their wedding officiant was not actually a wedding officiant. Ugh….what a hassle. You know what this means right? They are not in fact legally married. What a hassle.
Some problems we are not able to predict. Others, like this one, I suppose, could have been avoided. Yes, a pain. Knowing who you’re working with and checking credentials is not that hard to do.
Tina, my wife and the wedding officiant at our Sudbury based pop up wedding service is listed on the Ontario government website .
