PopUp Weddings seem to be growing in popularity. We’ve personally had a great first year when we started our Pop Up Wedding service in Sudbury, ONT last year.
I’ve said this before and it bears repeating….Pop Up Weddings are a natural extension and organic evolution for wedding photographers. There is an element of being more than just a wedding photographer, of course. If you’re taking on pop up weddings as part of your photography business, you need to also be a wedding planner, event planner and wedding officiant.
When we started our Pop Up Wedding service I got a message from Nancy Tillberg, a ThunderBay photographer who I’ve known for years.
She was excited at our new venture and felt she could do the same in Thunder Bay. We chatted, we shared ideas, thoughts, strategies and she picked my brain dry.
I was excited for her because she lives out in the country and her home is an ideal location for Pop Up weddings. She has a large country lot, trees and the best thing…a barn. I love the idea of using a barn for weddings. Who doesn’t?
